About The Villa
At Tequila Sunrise, refined sophistication marries the natural exuberance of island living.Tequila is a contemporary three-bedroom villa situated on the south coast of Anguilla at secluded Dropsey Bay. While accessible to all the conveniences of modern living, Tequila is a private retreat that allows for interaction with the perfect serenity of nature. Large expanses of glass doors and windows optimize views of the ocean, and miles of the surrounding natural landscape.
Meander down to the beach, snorkel, recline poolside or laze in the sun on your private patio and be lulled by the rhythms of the surf.
Rooms
Great RoomThe open floor plan of the ground floor emphasizes spaciousness while encouraging the flow of the tantalizing cool trade winds.
The Great Room is a sublime mix of restrained minimalism and high impact gestures.
The whimsical grandeur of the custom, abstract copper light fixture and the bold drama of the 20-foot dune panel seductively lit according to the dictates of one's mood declare that sophistication is not without passion.
The pure, sculptural lines of the furniture remind one that the quintessence of perfection is simplicity.
Kitchen & Dining
Just off the Great Room lie the kitchen and dining with well-appointed accessories (wine refrigerator, coffee maker... and exquisite tableware)
Just off the patio, the dining room opens up to a view of the ocean. A large dining table seats 8 under the romantic glow of Le Klint pendants.
Bedrooms
Pared-down sophistication in dreamy white.
Soft, down comforters, and luxurious Italian linens cushion dreams. Accents of burnt orange and sunny yellow color your dreamscape. Meticulously edited details facilitate a clearing of the mind to unleash forgotten sensations.
Each spacious bedroom opens up to a private patio overlooking the pool and glistening ocean. Each is equipped with a writing desk should the surf inspire.

Our Story
The Story of Tequila Sunrise, the VillaWe vacationed in Anguilla for many years before making our decision to build our dream home here.
The search for land began with our wonderful real estate agent Theo Smith who found us our "piece of paradise" on a beautiful beach with a swimming and snorkeling area. There is also a cave and gorgeous rock formations. We found it to be very romantic and secluded. Words and photographs do not describe the beauty.
The process of buying land in Anguilla is not an easy one but through the firm of Keithley Lake, with the help of Kenneth Porter and Michelle Smith, the transition seemed flawless.
Our next step was to find an architect to design our home.
Ian Edwards, also known by all as Sugar George, of Sunset Homes was our choice. He is a young, local architect who is fun, innovative, knows the land and the area and had fantastic ideas.
We worked on the design of our villa for many months until the plans were finalized. His wife Janine was very helpful to us as well. We wanted to have an outdoor feel with a courtyard and stairs leading to the upstairs master suites.
We decided that all bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms be master suites with open showers so all could enjoy the romantic feeling of the outdoors.
Our sons named Tequila Sunrise after their Dad's favorite drink and for the amazing sunrise and sunsets from our home.
We hired a local builder, one who could focus totally on our home. We met Leroy Gumbs of Leeward Construction. Leroy made the process of building a home in Anguilla not as difficult as one may think. Denease Gumbs, Leroy's charming wife, did all the customs work and helped many late nights with setting up the villa.
Fritz Smith was hired as our project manager. He sent us photos weekly so we were able to see the progress when we weren't in Anguilla. He also helped with the electric, roads, site plans and anything else he found we needed.
We asked ourselves, "How will we ever design the interior and the furnishings." Luckily we met Maris Edwards of ME Designs. Her approach to design is informed by her poetic sensibilities. She is an alumni of New York School of Design, New York and a graduate of English Literature from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Since beginning her practice in October 2005, she has worked on a number of residential and commercial projects. Maris is committed to delivering service based on integrity, quality, attention to details and timeliness. She designed and furnished every inch of our home with refined sophisticated fun.
Maris has far exceeded our expectations!
We can't be in Anguilla all of the time so we decided to have others enjoy the Tequila Sunrise experience. Robin & Sue Ricketts of Anguilla Luxury Collection, Villa Managers were hired to totally take charge of the rentals with complete management. We applaud their marketing efforts and have a wonderful relationship with them.
Robin and Sue found the perfect Housekeeping Management Team headed by Sharon Touzin and Maureen Carty. to keep the villa running smoothly and the guests feeling free to completely enjoy the surroundings.
Donovan Adams was hired from New York to design and maintain our website. Donovan was also responsible for the photography on the website. Jo-Anne Mason of Anguilla did the beautiful renderings of Tequila Sunrise and the floor plans for the website
They have both been so helpful, very accommodating and a pleasure to work with.
We have had the experience of a lifetime designing Tequila Sunrise for our family and friends to enjoy. We hope you will find as much happiness and enjoyment for you and your families here as well.
Thanks for taking the time to read our story.

Beaches
Beaches on the Atlantic coastline of Anguilla from East to West.Captain's Bay
Lined with rugged coral cliffs, the beautiful Captain's Bay features a wide beach surrounded by rocky cliffs. You can now reach the white sands by walking the cliff road east of Island Harbour. The beach is not recommended for swimming as there are strong currents and undertow, but it is a perfect place to picnic, or take a walk along the coast and enjoy the panorama.
Island Harbour
A fisherman's village, Island Harbour is filled with homemade fishing boats. The crescent shaped beach is dotted with palm trees and the water is generally calm but quite often lined with seaweed. Island Harbour's relaxed atmosphere makes the trip worth it, especially if you catch a ride with one of the local fisherman to nearby Scrub Island.
Shoal Bay East
Easily one of the top beaches in the Caribbean, Shoal Bay East is the most popular beach on Anguilla. This means that a good portion of the beach is populated with beach bars, small resorts and umbrellas. The water is perfect and a short distance from the gradually sloping soft white sand is a live reef full of colorful fish and coral. For a unique experience find Junior and his glass bottom boat for an all around great view of the Bay. A couple of favorite eats include Elodias, Madearaman, Ku and Uncle Ernies. Gwen's Reggae Grill is another popular hangout.
Limestone Bay
The long drive down a dirt road is worth the trip to reach Limestone Bay. The bay is peaceful, secluded and sometimes you may even catch a glimpse of one of the Island's other inhabitants: sea turtles and iguana.
Little Bay
One of Anguilla's best-kept secrets, this tiny beach is quiet and offers excellent snorkeling. You can reach Little Bay by taking Carl's water taxi from Crocus Bay.
Crocus Bay
Crocus Bay offers magnificent cliffs and view of Anguilla's offshore cays. Only a short drive from the Valley, the Bay is also the gateway to Little Bay. This beach is great for swimming and snorkeling with awesome reef fish and coral, and you can even swim all the way to Little Bay.
Katouche Bay
Located at the foot of Anguilla's only "rain forest," this tiny beach is accessible by a short walk from Massara. Or for the more adventurous, take the nature walk through Katouche Valley and end up at the beach.
Sandy Ground
Anguilla's main port for cargo ships and bustling with nighttime activities, this village is lined with high cliffs and a salt pond behind. The harbour is usually filled with all types of fishing and pleasure boats, and is the best place to find a boat ride to Sandy Island or Prickly Pear Cay. You will find everything here, including great restaurants, entertainment and even a small grocery store.
Prickly Pear Cay
This small cay off the north coast of Anguilla is a fantastic spot for sailboats and snorkel trips. Two beach bar restaurants offer lunch and boat rides to the island. Only a short boat ride from the Sandy Ground Village.
Long Bay
A really nice spot for sunbathing, Long Bay has the original three Temenos villas and Oliver's offering great vistas sits on the cliff above with easy access to the beach.
Meads Bay
This bay plays host to villas, Malliouhana and several restaurants - including Blanchard's - along its nearly one mile stretch of white sand beach. It is the perfect beach for long walks and romantic moonlight strolls.
Barnes Bay
This quiet beach offers fantastic sunsets and some unusual coral rock formations. You will find several of the islands finest private villas, Mango's restaurant and Viceroy Anguilla on this nearly private stretch of beach.
West End Bay
You'll find not only a cute beach, with interesting coral formations, but also a good hike along the coast, and a perfect spot for watching the sunset any day of the year.
Beaches on the Caribbean Sea side of Anguilla from East to West
Windward Point
This is a great part of the island for a hike with wonderful views. Climb the rock at the end of Anguilla and get an excellent view of Scrub Island, much of Anguilla, St. Maarten, and St. Bart's. As this area is completely desolate, don't go alone.
Savannah Bay
Savannah Bay is a long sweeping crescent beach backed by sand dunes. It offers excellent views of St. Bart's, St. Maarten and the Caribbean Sea. The beach has a beach bar - Palm Grove Bar & Grill - and an occasional small fishing boat. Sunrise can be seen here at the island's tip.
Mimi Bay
This bay is quite isolated, and although it is not a good place to swim, it's excellent for a hike. Because it is desolate, taking a buddy is recommended.
Sandy Hill Bay (close to Dropsey Bay and Tequila Sunrise!)
A crescent of sand on a protected bay, Sandy Hill beach is a pleasant place to sun and swim and a favorite spot for local Anguillans. A number of villas and some rental residences line the hills around this beach. Check out the panorama of Sandy Hill beach.
Forest Bay
This beach has very shallow water and a wonderful view. The popular restaurant Straw Hat is located at the eastern end of this beach.
Elsie Bay
Probably Anguilla's tiniest beach, this gem has some unusual snorkeling opportunities.
Little Harbour
Protected on all sides, this wave less beach is fantastic for swimming and boating.
Sandy Point Beach at Blowing Point
Although this is the ferry port for Anguilla, the strip of beach has a very secluded area to the west of the ferry that is wonderful for beach picnics and swimming.
Rendezvous Bay
About two miles long, this bay offers nice sand, calm clear water and the perfect view.
Cove Bay
A nice one and half mile of crescent beach and lovely sand dunes make this beach a good place for a private picnic. Smokey's restaurant sits on the eastern end of the beach and a public jetty is nearby.
Maunday's Bay Beach
Located on the Southwestern coast on the seaside of Cove pond and Gull pond, and home to the widely acclaimed Cap Juluca, this beach is beautiful. To reach this beach you must go past the security hut of the hotel. George's restaurant serves lunch, and Pimms, Dinner.
Shoal Bay West
This beach provides calm waters perfect for swimming. The views of St. Maarten and Saba from this beach make it an enjoyable place to sit and relax for hours. The beach is dotted with upscale resorts and restaurants
